About Bunion Surgery

A bunion is when the big toe leans toward the second toe, rather than pointing straight ahead. This gradual process of movement and malalignment produces the characteristic bump which can become symptomatic in its later stages. Inherited foot types are the most frequent cause of bunions. Wearing shoes that crowd the toes don’t actually cause a bunion but they can cause symptoms to appear sooner adding to the progression of the deformity.
